Which Element Actually Runs You?
Fire, earth, air or water — not the one your sign says, the one your behaviour says.

What This Quiz Is Doing
This asks how you tend to respond to situations and sorts the answers into fire, earth, air or water. It is a description of self-report, not a measurement of your chart.
That distinction matters more here than in any other quiz on the site, because your chart genuinely does have an elemental balance and it is computable.
If the two disagree, the computed one is the one that was measuring something.
The Four, Briefly
Fire responds with initiative — moving before the information is complete. Earth responds with consolidation — asking what it costs and whether it will hold.
Air responds with distance — stepping back far enough to see the shape of the thing. Water responds with attunement — reading what everybody in the room is not saying.
None is the correct response. Each is right in some situations and expensive in others, which is why the tradition treats them as temperaments rather than as virtues.
Why Your Result May Shift
Take this twice a month apart and you may get different answers. That is not a flaw so much as an accurate reflection of what self-report is.
Mood shifts the answers, recent events shift them, and how a question is phrased shifts them further. People describe themselves inconsistently without any dishonesty involved.
A result that surprises you is worth more attention than one that confirms what you expected, because it had to overcome the tendency to answer as the person you think you are.
The Counted Version
Counting the elements across a whole chart is the accurate version of this exercise, and it frequently disagrees with both the quiz and the sun sign.
The count has to be weighted, because the outer planets sit in one sign for years and counting them equally would give an entire generation the same temperament.
Our Elemental Weather calculator does it properly from actual placements, weighted the way practitioners weight them.
The Missing Element
Whichever element comes out lowest here is worth more attention than the one that comes out highest, and the same is true of the computed version.
A dominant element describes something you already do without being asked. An absent one describes a mode that has to be built deliberately, which makes it the only one of the two that is actionable.
That is the most useful thing a result of this kind can give you, and it is the part most people skip past.
The Limit Of A Quiz Result
This identifies no condition, assesses no aspect of wellbeing, and offers no guidance on health, money or anything consequential.
It is a prompt for thinking about temperament, placed on the lighter side of the site deliberately.
If something in your life needs a decision, it needs better inputs than a set of multiple-choice answers.
